Tips for Selecting Cute and Functional Clothing for Kids

January 27th, 2010

If you are one of those parents who are in constant look out for outfits which are cute as well as functional, then read on. Given below are some amazing tips on selecting cute and functional clothing for kids.

  • For younger kids and toddlers, it is best that you purchase skirts, pants and shorts with elastics. This reduces the hassle to a great extent. If you are bent upon buying outfits with zips, then it is highly recommended that you determine on zippered bottoms with wide plastic teeth which are easy to move.
  • Go for outfits which support easy and  effortless dressing. For instance, outfits with easy necklines and large buttons are easier to handle and encourage no-nonsense dressing.
  • Since children tend to attract dirt, colors, food stains and mud, look for clothing that can withstand a number of washes without loosing its shine.
  • Always go for one size larger than your kid’s perfect fit. This will ensure that you get perfect value for your money as your kid can wear that outfit for more days.
  • Kids do not like bulky clothing and jackets. If you are looking for outfits which would keep your kid warm during cold winter days, then go for clothes which can be easily layered. It is also recommended that you purchase clothing which comes with attached accessories such as scarves, hats and mittens. Opting for such clothes would result in immense ease as you don’t have to search for such accessories seperately.

Once again, it is important to reiterate here that when it comes to kids, clothing is all about comfort and functionality.

Keep Up with your Growing Child

By  Elesha Jones (a Growing Growing Gone Mom)

Children seem to change clothing sizes while they are asleep. You give birth to this little, tiny baby who swims in the newborn sizes and then before you know it, they are wearing 12 months, then 24 months and then they are in toddler land. My son’s 4T jeans fit just fine one day, and then they were an inch too short the next day. He grew taller before I could even blink. Cooler weather was upon us and I couldn’t send my son to school in shorts. He’d freeze, and then what kind of mother would I be? But I didn’t have time to go to the store between being taxi driver, cook, housekeeper, tutor, nanny and all the other hats I wear. Besides, I needed a particular type of jean, not just the first thing I could pull off the rack. My son is very thin so I have to purchase adjustable waist jeans to make sure they don’t fall off his small frame.

Luckily, I was able to go to www.kidsclothing.ca at 11 p.m. and get exactly what I was looking for. There were jeans from GAP, Old Navy, Children’s Place, Osh Kosh and more, and my purchase shipped to me within 48 hours of my order. Since my son has grown too tall for the toddler sizes, I was confused about the difference between the 4T and size 4 pants. Thanks to the sizing chart at Growing Growing Gone, I was able to understand the height and weight that each size is recommended for and pick the perfect jean for my son. I didn’t have to worry any longer about him sitting down at school and showing three inches of his leg. After all, we all know how children can be teased by their peers and that’s the last thing I wanted for my little guy.

I also want to thank you for the quick action on my last order, even though the incorrect size was shipped I was surprised to have an answer to my query within 2 hours and on a weekend!  It is rare these days to find customer service like that.  I have recommended you many of my friends and will continue to do so!  I look forward to being a regular customer.  Ruth, Saskachewan

January 4th, 2010

Children need clothes like fish need water and all moms know that kids’ clothes seem to disappear right before your eyes. Either they are too small, too worn, or missing in action, but whatever the case, your children’s clothes need replaced constantly. You are a mom. That title alone means that you have at least 25 responsibilities each day that probably include little sleep. You dread going shopping because the only time you can do it is either when you take the kids with you, which is non-productive, or late at night when you can’t keep your eyes open.

There is another option. Growing Growing Gone is your one-stop shop for all your kids’ clothing needs. With more than 100 brands to choose from, this website offers anything you might need for a baby all the way up to an adolescent. The mall isn’t the only place to find Old Navy, GAP, Children’s Place, Tommy Hilfiger or OshKosh. All of these stores come to you when you shop at Growing Growing Gone.

Besides being available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this one-stop shop saves you money. They accept Visa, Mastercard and Paypal so there’s no trouble in getting your payment to go through. Enjoy hassle-free shopping and spend time on what really matters: being with your family.

Dress Your Child in Cute, Cozy Clothes for Winter

December 17th, 2009

Long gone are the days of summer, and so are the shorts, tank tops and short-sleeved shirts. A new season demands a new wardrobe. For our kids, this can take on a whole new meaning. For us, we put on a coat and boots and we’re good to go. But our kids need school clothes, play clothes, dress clothes and many times, even sports clothes. Plus, children seem to get hot quickly from running around so much. They may be freezing outside, but once they come indoors, they are sweating puddles. Layering is the best way to keep your little guys warm out in the cold but not too hot inside.

Avoid having to fight the crowds or wait in line to get your children’s winter wear. On Growing Growing Gone, you can purchase everything you need all in one place. There are many types of clothing for boys and girls from newborns all the way through size 16 for girls and size 20 for boys. Moms of babies can get long-sleeved onesies with matching pants from Carters or cute corduroy dresses or reindeer vests. For toddlers, there are velvet pants and skirts or jeans and sweaters from Children’s Place, Old Navy and other great brands. Older kids will love the fashionable apparel from Liz Claiborne, Greendog, Energie and Tommy Hilfiger including hoodies, jeans, sweaters, turtlenecks, camouflage pants and jackets and many more.

Not only will you get clothes your children will want to wear this winter, you’ll save up to 72% off retail prices. So don’t waste your precious time searching for the best deal on certain days at particular stores.  Growing Growing Gone provides you speedy shopping for all the brands you and your children both love at great prices. Dress your child cute and cozy while saving time and money without the frustration of waiting in line or driving in bad weather.

Save an extra 10%

December 14th, 2009

With Christmas fast approaching, your money seems to be going quicker than the milk in your refrigerator. After buying gifts for my mom, dad, sister, nieces, nephews, mother-in-law, husband’s siblings, children and my husband, there’s nothing left. But I also realized yesterday that my kids really need new clothes. Last years’ wardrobe is too small for my daughter and my son has put holes in every pair of pants he owns. Thank goodness I can get all my kids clothes at Growing Growing Gone for up to 72% off retail prices. Plus, right now I can get an additional 10% off the sale prices with the coupon code on the website. All I have to do is put in GGG2009 before I check-out and all my purchases will automatically receive an additional 10% off. Merry Christmas to me!

Along with saving money, I’ll be giving myself the gift of not having to drive in traffic, fight the crowds of other holiday shoppers or wait in those long lines that I don’t have time for. I can get clothes from Gap, Energie, Tommy Hilfiger, Carters, Children’s Place, Old Navy and many more all at one location. Not only are there more than 100 name brands to cho0se from, the clothes are less than retail price. I can even get my daughter the Hannah Montana hoodie she’s been begging for and save an extra 10%. While I’m shopping, I can also get a few last-minute presents for my nieces and nephews. They certainly don’t need any more toys, so cool Calvin Klein or High School Musical apparel ought to do the trick.

Once I’ve picked out all the perfect items for my kids and sisters’ children, and put in my 10% code, all my purchases will ship to me within 24 to 48 hours. Who said Christmas can’t be merry and bright?

Get the Perfect Gift for a Fellow Mom

December 11th, 2009

Your best friend has enough candles, picture frames and trinkets to fill several boxes. So what in the world do you get her for Christmas? She has two kids so you consider buying something for her children, but then you’d have to get an item for each child. Then it wouldn’t really be a gift for your fellow mom. It would be presents her children are unwrapping on Christmas morning, and then where does that leave your beloved friend?

Have you ever considered getting her a practical, yet fun gift? A gift certificate  from Growing Growing Gone is a perfect gift for another mother. She can use it whenever she wants on things her children truly need at that moment. It’ so easy to order that all you have to do is go the website and click on “Gift Certificates”. You put in the dollar amount you want to spend, starting at $5. Then you decide if you want to have a printed gift certificate mailed to you or whether you want it to be emailed. If you choose the print option, it will take three to seven business days. However, if you pick the email option, it will only take one to two days to process the gift certificate. You can even send several gift certificates to multiple recipients either by mail or email. While you are there, share this great gift-giving idea by clicking on the “email a friend” link.

This is a far better choice than another set of holiday dish towels or napkin rings that are only used once a year. What mom doesn’t constantly need clothes for her little ones? At Growing Growing Gone, your friend can choose from baby clothes, toddler sizes or apparel for older children. She can replace worn-out or too small clothes with name-brands like Gap, OshKosh, Tommy Hillfiger, Ralph Lauren, Gymboree, Children’s Place and more.

Your Growing Child…What is the most memorable outfit in their closet?

December 1st, 2009

What is the most memorable outfit that you ever had in your child’s closet?  Did you love it or hate it?  Do you still have it?  Will you ever part with it?

I would love to hear your stories. Please share with other Growing Growing Parents on the blog or on Growing Growing Gone’s facebook discussion page.

In hopes to kick of this discussion.

The most memorable outfit in my daughter’s closet was an outfit we had her first summer. It was a baby gift and one that we were not initially crazy about.  However it soon became the most used outfit in her closet.

Its main selling feature was its colour — it was NOT PINK. It was a rust coloured top with matching capri pants. We still have that outfit, and I think it will be the one outfit that I will never give away — that is when I can finally bring myself to part with any of her baby clothes.

OBC Clothing – Great Casual Clothing

One of the FAQ’s I am asked at trade shows is “what does OBC stand for?”

OBC stands for Offical Baby Company. It’s a Canadian label from Nova Soctia. Although this label is not well know it is a quality clothing label providing casual childen’s clothing at an affordable price.

Most of their clothing is made from 100% soft cotton. Their jersey cotton shirts often have snaps either in the back of the neck or at the shoulder which allows for easier dressing.

The fit for this line is definately roomy.

Currently in stock, Growing Growing Gone has 100% cotton dress shirts for little boys in white and light blue. Also for your little man check out the grey wool jackets or two tone tops which have matching PJ style pants for those lazy weekend days or the chino style cotton pants.

For little girls, check out the warm snap front undershirts or casual tops in pink and salmon or the cozy turtleneck sweaters in green or pink or the butterfly splash pants.

My Favourite Piece of Kids Clothing

My Favourite Dress at Growing Growing Gone

My Favourite Dress at Growing Growing Gone

What is your favourite piece of kids clothing on www.growinggrowinggone.ca? Mine has to be an adorable dress by Ralph Lauren in size 2T. I have been gaga over this dress since it first arrived. Oh how I wish that my daughter was young enough to fit into it.

This dress simply reminds me of the dresses my mom used to dress me in — the ones I actually liked. With the petticoat underneath this dress was made for twirling. When I was a little girl I used to feel like a princess when I was in a dress that twirled really well. The short sleeves and the smocking detail on the bodice complete the look.

When I look at this dress I remember happy memories when fairy dust and princesses ruled my dreams. It is a classic style that will never go out of fashion.
